This shrub has beautifully perfumed flowers, long needle-like leaves which are pointed like daggers. It is not surprising therefore that this remedy is used for those who are a bit "prickly" and whose words can be sharp barbs at times. These people may hold old grudges against those to whom they have been very close, such as family members and past lovers.
This remedy primarily brings about the open expression of feelings and forgiveness. It helps people work through and resolve intense feelings of resentment and bitterness, which are usually directed towards those who have been very close to them. At times these people's feelings are so intense that they are overwhelming so they keep their feelings of resentment locked inside. Sometimes these people seem very sweet natured, but there is a lot of anger behind the facade.
This is a wonderful remedy when a relationship has ended or a family feud has developed. In the former case, before people can release a former lover or friend, they have to work through their feelings, especially if the other person ended the relationship.
